Dr. Janglin (John) Chen

Dr. Janglin (John) Chen is a Vice President of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Taiwan, and the General Director of ITRI’s Display Technology Center. Prior to Joining ITRI, Dr. Chen was a Research Fellow of Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York, where he held many R&D managerial positions from 1982 to 2006. He is the author of sixty technical articles, and has 33 issued US Patents. A native of Taiwan, Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. degree from NYU /Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York (1982), and is a graduate of Senior Executive Program, Stanford University, CA. In ITRI, Dr. Chen and his staff focus on new display and advanced technology research, including flexible displays, substrates, cholesteric LC and electrowetting display.

Dr. Chen, an Associate Editor of IEEE/OSA Journal of Display Technology and also Editor-in-Chief of ” Handbook of Visual Display Technology ”(2012), Springer Publishing., is presently the Chairman of Taiwan Display Material and Device Association, and Vice Chairman of Taiwan Display Union Association.
